Your personal node
An AMS2 server that is yours and nobody else’s. No community, no paperwork, and the races still count.

1. What it is, and what it is not
A personal node is an AMS2 dedicated server running on your PC and connected to Gonky Racing. You manage it on your own, from the Node Manager or from the browser. It is not a cut-down community: it is a different thing, for when you want to race with your friends without running a club.
- What you race counts the same: SR and GR ratings, licence, records and your race history.
- You get full remote control and the browser window. They are not cut: they are not community features, they are operator convenience.
- What you do not get is a shop window: your space has no public page and does not appear in the directory.
2. Setting it up, in four steps
You need a Windows PC switched on while people race, and Automobilista 2 is not needed on that machine: the dedicated server is a separate 15 MB program.
- Download the Gonky Node Manager and install it on that PC.
- On the first screen, sign in with Steam. You do not need a code: codes are for joining a community that already exists.
- Choose your personal space. It is created for you, with your name, and there is nothing to fill in.
- Let it install the dedicated server, pick tracks and a class, and start. Your friends find you in the game’s server browser.
Tip: From /mi-nodo on the site you can run it without touching that PC: start, stop, change track and see who is on track. And the Node Manager Web installs on your phone like an app.
3. What gets published and what does not
Your space has no public page, but the races are public: they show up in the race history, with their results and laps, like any other.
- In the public history the server shows as “User’s personal server”, not with whatever you named the room.
- Your room does not appear in the public live timing or on the home page. You see it yourself, from /mi-nodo.
Careful: A record only counts with realistic driving aids. If the room forces aids beyond that, laps are still saved and visible, but they do not enter the records table. Same rule for everyone, communities included.
4. When you want to move to a community
You do not start over and you do not uninstall anything. From the Node Manager settings you can move your node into a community, yours or someone else’s.
- Creating a community is free and instant. What unlocks at 3 members is the community tier.
- Your earlier races are not lost or moved: they are already in your history and in the history of whoever raced with you.
Tip: If you already had a community before tiers existed, you keep what you had even if you are the only member. Nothing is taken away retroactively.
