What this page does not know yet

These are times for the REAL sun at that point on Earth. That Automobilista 2 puts its own sun in exactly the same place is reasonable, but we have not verified it on track yet. When we measure it, this line will change and say since when.

Frequently asked questions

What time do I start to finish at sunset?

Pick the circuit and the date, enter your real race length and the time multiplier, and the "Finish right at sunset" row gives you the start time. On a dedicated server, use the whole hour — it is all the server accepts.

What is golden hour?

The stretch when the sun sits between the horizon and about 6° up: warm, very low light. It is what makes screenshots look good, and what blinds you down a straight facing west.

Why do some circuits say "of the town"?

Because that layout has no published coordinate — usually rallycross or temporary venues — so the town is used instead. The timing error is seconds, but we would rather say so than fake a precision we do not have.

Does this apply to career mode or only online?

The solar maths applies to both. What changes is how you use it: a dedicated server takes whole hours, while offline you can set the minute.
