Prepare clean stops: which preset to use, when to request the pit, how to avoid wrong refuel values and what to check before pit entry.
Updated June 17, 2026
In AMS2 the crew follows the selected strategy. If you enter with the wrong preset, the issue is not the stop itself: it is the preparation.
Step
In the car setup open Pit Strategy and save separate stops: dry, wet, fuel only and damage.
Step
The chosen preset becomes your default strategy. Check it is not carrying tyres or pressures from a previous race.
Step
Bind pit request inside ICM/MFD. Requesting the stop helps the crew prepare.
Step
Brake before the pit speed line, enter cleanly and stop on the red pit box marker.
Step
Fuel, tyres and repairs are shown as progress. Leave only when the game releases the stop.
For races where tyres can last. Disable tyre changes and repairs unless you need them.
Add exact litres
Requesting total litres by mistake
Long sprint or normal race with low wear
Prepare dry and wet separately. AMS2 can request specific tyre combinations and new pressures.
Dry preset and wet preset
Changing tyres unintentionally
Rain, drying track or long stint
If the server requires a stop or minimum tyres, complete the required action inside the race window.
Check event rules
Pitting but not meeting min tyres
Championships and regulated races
Repairs can save a race, but engine/gearbox work can take a long time. Keep a separate damage preset.
Aero/suspension if pace is affected
Repairing engine by default
Endurance, rain or heavy incident
Do not wait until you are sliding while searching menus. Save a wet/intermediate strategy with no fuel if fuel is not needed.
Wet preset ready
Changing too late
Variable weather
If everything goes wrong, prioritise a living car: enough fuel, correct tyre and only the repair you need.
Touch only what matters
Losing a minute repairing everything
Long race or finishing priority
In Pit Strategy the requested fuel is added to what remains in the tank. If you want to leave with 42 L and you still have 12 L, do not request 42 L.
Race changes can remain saved. Before the start, check tyres, pressures, fuel and repairs.
If nothing is selected, the game uses default or the previous strategy. It may change tyres, repair or skip refuelling.
Engine, gearbox or deep damage can cost huge time. Split “quick damage” from “full repair”.
Prepare presets before racing. In race, adjust only what is essential on a straight or before the in-lap.
Some events require minimum tyre changes, refuelling or simply visiting the pits. Read the server rule.
Pit request button bound and tested.
Dry, wet, fuel only and damage presets saved.
Fuel to add calculated with margin, not total stint fuel.
Preset tyres and pressures checked for this car.
Repairs disabled unless they are part of the plan.
Mandatory stop rule, window and min tyres checked.
Pit entry practised: braking point, limiter and pit box.
Slicks if needed, planned fuel, light repairs off.
Wet/intermediate tyre, no fuel if you are only changing compound.
Only litres to add. Useful when tyres last.
Aero/suspension if driveability is affected; engine/gearbox off unless emergency.
Last resort to finish a long race.
Link pit stops with fuel, tyres and setup so the decision is made before the MFD becomes a distraction.
Practical summary based on community documentation, Reiza forum threads and AMS2 user discussions. Some options can vary by server rules, class and game version.
Not always if the strategy is selected, but requesting it from MFD/ICM on the in-lap helps prepare the box and reduces confusion.
No. It is fuel to add on top of what remains in the tank. This is one of the most common causes of bad stops.
Create and select a wet preset in Pit Strategy. In race you can choose it from ICM/MFD before entering the pits.
The event may require a specific action, such as changing a minimum number of tyres, refuelling or stopping inside a window. Check the server rules.
Pilot Manager times your pit stops and tells you where you will rejoin, live.
