Create your own livery
Paint your own Automobilista 2 skin using the official Reiza templates, install it in your game, and share it with everyone in the Community section.
How it works
- 1
Download the template of your car
Reiza publishes official layered templates (PSD) for 200+ AMS2 cars — find yours in the list below. It includes the wireframe, shading layers and the alpha-channel guide.
- 2
Paint it
Open the PSD in your editor and design on top of the template layers. Keep the wireframe visible while you work; hide it before exporting. The alpha channel controls the finish: white = glossy paint, black = carbon/matte.
- 3
Export as DDS
Export the finished texture as a DDS file (DXT5/BC3 with mipmaps — 7 mip levels is the usual setting). GIMP and Paint.NET export DDS natively; Photoshop needs a free plugin (see tools).
- 4
Install it as an override
Go to Documents\Automobilista 2\Vehicles\Textures\CustomLiveries\Overrides\ — every car has a folder with a _dist.xml describing file names and thumbnails. Drop your DDS there and reference it in the XML. Overrides REPLACE one of the car's existing liveries (launch the game with -showliveryIDs to see which ID is which).
- 5
Test it in the game
Restart AMS2 and pick the livery slot you overrode in the garage. Overrides are multiplayer-safe: other drivers simply see the stock livery unless they install yours too.
- 6
Share it with the community
Pack your override folder as a zip/rar/7z and publish it here — it goes live in the Community section under your pilot name, and anyone can install it in one click with the Pilot Manager.
Overrides can only replace the liveries a car already has — they can't add extra slots. If a car ships with 12 liveries, you can repaint any of those 12.
Already painted one?
Publish it — it shows up instantly in Community, under your pilot name.
