We only list what affects FFB in AMS2. Leave the rest of the software (FFB curve, equaliser, wheel presets, calibration) at its defaults.

Model notes

  • Same base as the CSL DD with PlayStation support: identical settings.
  • Keep LFB almost off on direct drive bases.
  • If the wheel oscillates on straights, increase damping before lowering Gain.

What each setting does, its range and what we set for AMS2. Anything without a value, leave at default.

Main

SEN — Sensitivity

For AMS2AUTO

Degrees of rotation. On AUTO the game sets it.

Range: 90° – 2520° / AUTODef.: AUTO

FF — Force Feedback

Default

Maximum motor strength when the game sends FFB.

Model dependent: check the table above.

Range: 0 – 100%Def.: 100

FEI — Force Effect Intensity

For AMS280 – 100

Intensity and sharpness of effects: 0 is smoothest, 100 sharpest and most direct.

Range: 0 – 100Def.: 100

INT — FFB Interpolation

For AMS22 – 4

Smooths the game signal and raises its refresh rate. Higher = smoother.

Range: OFF, 1 – 20Def.: 6

LIN — FFB LinearityDD only

Default

Linearises the force response. DD bases only.

Range: ON / OFFDef.: OFF

Natural effects (DD only)

Generated by the BASE, not the game. In AMS2 keep them low.

NDP — Natural DamperDD only

Default

Damping that reacts to wheel acceleration and angle.

Model dependent: check the table above.

Range: OFF – 100Def.: 50

NFR — Natural FrictionDD only

For AMS20 – 3

Simulates the mechanical feel of steering components.

Range: OFF – 100Def.: OFF

NIN — Natural InertiaDD only

For AMS20 – 5

Simulates added weight on the steering axle. Useful with very light rims.

Range: OFF – 100Def.: OFF

DirectInput effects

Effects the game requests via DirectInput. AMS2 does not use them heavily: leave at 100 unless you want them off.

FOR — Force

For AMS2100%

Scales constant force effects.

Range: OFF, 010 – 120Def.: 100

SPR — Spring

Default

Scales the spring effect (pulls the wheel to the dynamic centre).

AMS2 barely uses it; the default (100) is harmless.

Range: OFF, 010 – 120Def.: 100

DPR — Damper

Default

Scales the damper effect requested by the game.

Range: OFF, 010 – 120Def.: 100

Wheel / pedals

SHO — Shock

Default

Rim rumble motors, if your wheel has them.

Range: OFF, 10 – 100%Def.: 100

BLI — Brake Level Indicator

Default

Vibrates when you reach the brake % you set.

Range: OFF – 100Def.: OFF

BRF — Brake Force

Default

Brake pedal curve (load cell).

Range: MIN – 50 – MAXDef.: 50

MPS — Multi Position Switch

Default

Mode for the rim multi-position switches.

Range: AUTO / Encoder / Constant / PulseDef.: AUTO

About this base
