The R16 was, alongside the R21, one of MOZA’s first two Direct Drive bases (2021), with 16 Nm of torque. It introduced the 12-36 pole slanted-pole motor with a carbon-fibre rotor sleeve for thermal management and a 21-bit magnetic encoder (2,097,152 steps, 0.00017° resolution), all in an aviation-grade aluminium body. In 2023 it received the NextGen Force 2.0 FFB update (algorithm level) and was discontinued in 2025 with the arrival of the Ultra range. It was a high-torque base for demanding GT and single-seaters.
